Statement Regarding the Kamloops Residential School

On behalf of our Vancouver Island University Faculty Association members, we express our sorrow and condolences to all of the Indigenous Peoples of Canada, and especially the Tk’emlups te Secwépemc First Nation; we do so for the tragic deaths of 215 children whose remains were discovered on the Kamloops Indian Residential School site. MEMBER MEETING UPDATE: February 14th meeting rescheduled to February 27th

Due to the snow closures this week, there is a scheduling change for the two upcoming General Members’ Meetings. Our February 14th meeting is cancelled, and the ratification of bargaining proposals will take place at the February 27th meeting. We will reschedule the review of the proposed 2019-2020 budget for early March - details to follow.
