VIUFA members can apply by Jan 27 (5pm) for the final award of this academic year.
One $1500 portion of our annual $6,000 fund is available, with VIUFA already having awarded funds to three member-organized projects: the Harm Reduction Alliance, Watermelon Seeds Literary Festival, and Dental Hygiene Clinic.
Send in your proposal for a project or activity that will strengthen the capacity of our members, increase awareness, or bring about progressive solutions to critical issues facing the post-secondary sector.
The Union Activism Fund supports VIUFA members wishing to lead, facilitate or coordinate such activities. All categories of VIUFA members are equally welcome to apply. The project or activity must be completed within this fiscal year (March 31, 2026).
Suitable projects and activities must be focused on the theme of either Social Justice or Decolonization and Reconciliation, and could address topics such as: institutional racism; anti-racism; deconstructing colonial ideologies; addressing unbalanced power dynamics; human rights; gender equity; labour rights; valuing Indigenous ways of knowing, and revitalising relationships.
Apply by submitting a Description that illustrates objectives and how the project will engage our membership per the full CFP, a budget for your initiative, and a letter of support. Successful applicants submit a final report to be shared with the VIUFA membership prior to the April AGM.
